The Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification (JDDJ) was signed in Augsburg, Germany October 31, 1999. Representatives from the Lutheran World Federation and the Roman Catholic Church were among the participants in this historic signing. The World Methodist Council affirmed the JDDJ in 2006.
More than 300 people celebrated the anniversary of the JDDJ's signing, recognized as a significant achievement in the history of Christian ecumenical relations.
