Voices of our international companions
Hear the voices of ELCA companions all over the world. ELCA synods are invited to submit video clips featuring the voices of their international companions. These clips could feature their companions' reflections, or their greetings, or their thoughts on accompaniment, or an example of a mutual shared ministry. Video clips should be no longer than two minutes. Please email

"We go to the people and live with the people, to realize the love of Jesus"
In 2011, Lutherans in Indonesia celebrated the 150th anniversary of the Protestant Christian Batak Church (HKBP). Deaconesses are a strong part of the public ministry of this church. They are trained at the deaconess school in Balige, located at the southern end of scenic Lake Toba in the crater of an ancient volcano. In this video, you can hear the students raise their beautiful voices in the school choir, and also Sister Serepina Sitanggang as she speaks about how deaconesses are trained for service in the church and world.
In February 2012, ELCA missionary Megan Ross will go to this school to serve as an English teacher. Thank you for helping to send Megan, and for all the ways you accompany the deaconess school and the church in Indonesia. Your gifts for Mission Support, World Hunger, Missionary Sponsorship, and International Disaster Response make God's work happen through their hands – and ours.
