This self-giving messiah challenges us to examine our own selfish agendas and open our hearts and minds to be shaped as servants for others, bringing healing and transformation to a broken world. We are challenged not to pray for the granting of our hearts desires but for the transformation of our desires into a God-shaped will to work in the world. When we let God’s agenda become our agenda, we are transformed from being self-centered to Christ-centered.
