Week Three
Ron and Heda Christ, Botswana
The Christs work with the Lutheran Church in Botswana, whose ministry supports orphans of HIV/AIDS and their new caregivers. UNAIDS predicts that by 2010, 35% of children in Botswana will be orphaned.
When we get discouraged, we remember these kingdom images from Jesus. Mustard seeds become big healthy trees. Flour mixed with yeast and other ingredients becomes bread. Children become God-filled adults.
