Transformadas Para Transformar

Las Iglesias Luteranas en América Latina y el Caribe Responden al Desafío del VIH-SIDA

From June 28 – July 2, 2010, ELCA Global Mission brought together nearly four dozen women and men at the frontlines of the Lutheran church’s response to HIV/AIDS in the Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) region for a consultation called Transformadas para Transformar (Transformed to Transform). The Transformadas gathering was designed to listen closely to our companions and reflect on their nearly three decades of work engaging the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Latin America and the Caribbean. These lessons then become recommendations that are now informing and guiding the implementation of the ELCA strategic action related to HIV/AIDS domestically and around the world. In 2009 the ELCA adopted an HIV/AIDS strategy at its churchwide assembly that calls upon our church to respond faithfully and effectively to this global pandemic.
