Director
Luther College seeks a Director of Human Resources who will be responsible for managing all aspects of human resources for the college including classification, compensation and benefits, employee relations, recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, retirement and taxes. Additional responsibilities include developing and enhancing policies and procedures, preparing analyses and reports, overseeing HR information systems and data management, and interpreting laws and regulations and advising the college administration and employees regarding these laws, regulations and applicable policies and procedures.
Reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Administration, the Director of Human Resources is the Chief Human Resources Officer for Luther, an institution of approximately 2,400 undergraduates, 620 staff, and an annual operating budget of $110 million. The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred) and at least six years of HR management experience. He or she will have strong interpersonal relationship skills, the ability to make strategic recommendations and decisions, excellent oral and written communications skills, technological facility in the development and maintenance of HR management systems, high energy, effective management and supervisory skills, the ability to maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external constituents, and a passion for the mission of a residential liberal arts college of the church.
