ELCA Principles of Organization (from ELCA Constitution 5.01)

What primary principles of organization guide the operation of this church?

The primary principles of organization are:

      1. Commitment to the Confession of Faith and Statement of Purpose;
      2. Interdependence;
      3. Servant leadership;
      4. Effective stewardship of resources;
      5. Inclusive representation in assemblies, councils, boards, and committees;
      6. Ongoing review of functions; and
      7. Nurturing of unity.

These principles of organization are enumerated in churchwide constitutional provision 5.01.
