Freed in Christ to Serve

Participants at the 2011 ELCA Churchwide Assembly are invited to support churchwide ministries with daily offerings during worship.

Offerings will support the following ministries:

• ELCA Vision for Mission (Mon., August 15)
  Gifts to ELCA Vision for Mission directly support the mission and ministry of the ELCA. These gifts develop new congregations, equip people for leadership and service, share the gospel with others and engage young people in the life of this church.
  
• ELCA Malaria Campaign (Tues., August 16)
  Gifts to the ELCA Malaria Campaign expand this church’s work against malaria by working with companion churches in Africa to provide mosquito nets, insecticides, medication, health care and education to eliminate deaths from this disease.
  
• ELCA Missionary Sponsorship (Wed., August 17)
  Your offerings to ELCA Missionary Sponsorship support nearly 235 ELCA missionaries serving in almost 50 countries around the world. With this help, doctors, teachers, pastors, and other leaders will walk alongside our global neighbors--proclaiming the good news and serving those in need.
  
• ELCA Fund for Leaders (Thurs., August 18)
  Your gifts to the ELCA Fund for Leaders provide seminary scholarships to students who are preparing to become the future leaders of our congregations.
  
• ELCA World Hunger (Fri., August 19)
  Your gifts to ELCA World Hunger support work in 60 countries around the world, including the United States. Cornerstones of this work include projects focused on agriculture, livestock, water, health care and education to help people lift themselves out of hunger and poverty for the long-term.

At registration, assembly participants will also have the opportunity to make a credit card contribution to one or more of these programs. Please hold these ministries in your prayers and consider making a contribution.
