How do I get from the airport to the hotel?
It is approximately 10.4 miles from the airport to the convention center. When making your airline travel reservations, allow one and a half hours from airport arrival to hotel check-in. Shuttle service will be provided by SuperShuttle. For Voting and Advisory Members this shuttle service is complimentary. All others will be charged $22 for round-trip transportation.
Transportation between the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and all Churchwide Assembly hotels will be handled by SuperShuttle.
Voting members and Advisory members
Voting members and advisory members will be provided complimentary transportation between the airport and the hotels. Your name and flight information will be given to the shuttle staff in advance of your arrival. When arriving at the SuperShuttle desk, you will be given tickets for round-trip transportation. You do not need to make reservations for your transportation.
Best Travel Agency is providing the shuttle company with a list of voting members and advisory members traveling to the assembly. If you did not go through Best Travel to make your airline reservations, you need to e-mail your name and flight arrangements to: CWARegistrar@elca.org. Please put “CWA Travel Plans” in the subject line.
Those who pay for their own shuttle transportation
If you are not a voting member or advisory member, you do need to make reservations. Guests can call 1-800-BLUE VAN (1-800-258-3826) to make advance reservations or go on-line at www.supershuttle.com Use discount code D86CG. This code will allow you to get the discount rate of $22 round trip or $13.00 one way. Have your airline, flight number, and times available when you make your reservation. All major credit cards are accepted.
How to get to SuperShuttle when you land
Lindbergh (Main) Terminal – please follow the signs for “Hotel Shuttles and Scheduled Vans” to the “Ground Transportation Atrium.” The SuperShuttle service desk is located in the center of the Atrium. The desk is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Hubert Humphrey Terminal – proceed across the street to the transportation center. Use the phone at the SuperShuttle kiosk to be connected to the service desk. An agent will promptly arrange for your transportation.
How do I get around downtown Minneapolis?
On free evenings during the Churchwide Assembly, you may wish to explore downtown Minneapolis. There are many sites within walking distance of the Minneapolis Convention Center. Those who wish to explore the greater Minneapolis area can do so by using Hiawatha Light Rail, the Metro Transit bus system, or by hopping in a cab at your own expense.
