The ELCA's 65 synods elect the voting members of the
Churchwide Assembly. For a list of voting members see the

Conference of Bishops is composed of the 65 synodical bishops, the presiding bishop, and secretary of the ELCA.
The
Church Council includes the four officers of this church, the chair of the Conference of Bishops, and 33 to 45 people elected by the Churchwide Assembly. The Conference of Bishops elects one bishop from each of the nine regions to serve as advisory members. The Church Council elects the treasurer, executive for administration, unit executive directors, and the editor of
The Lutheran magazine, who are included in the
