Biennial Budget Approved at 2007 Churchwide Assembly

The basics of the budget proposal



As a servant of the resources that God has provided, this church shall organize itself to make the most effective use of its resources to accomplish its mission.

The budget proposal is developed by the Office of the Presiding Bishop. It is reviewed by the Church Council and used to make recommendations to the Biennial Churchwide Assembly regarding the upcoming biennial budget. These recommendations are to be acted on by the Churchwide Assembly.

What can be found inside the budget proposal?

  • A narrative description of the budget proposal;
  • The process by which the recommended biennial budget was developed;
  • The biennial income proposal;
  • The upcoming fiscal year’s expense proposal, including:
    • Distribution by churchwide unit;
    • Distribution by major purpose;
    • World Hunger distribution;
    • Summary of programs and services by churchwide unit; and
    • Financial charts.
