Cantor
This is a liturgical ELCA congregation. The primary
duty of the Cantor is to lead and enable the
congregational song by providing organ and piano
music and directing the choirs. The sanctuary is
blessed with a 3 manual Austin pipe organ and a
Steinway grand piano. Cantor will provide organ and
choir music for two Sunday services per week as well
as special services for church festivals and holy
times. The current music ministry includes adult,
youth and children?s choirs. Cantor oversees and
serves as resource for volunteers in choir
leadership positions. Cantor is responsible for
music in all areas, for example Saturday evening,
Sunday morning and mid-week services and Vacation
Bible School. Position will begin January 2009.
Salary for this 20 hr/wk position is negotiable and
commensurate with experience; currently budgeted as
maximum $14,000. A service orientation is sought.

instrumental accompaniment for 2 Sunday worship

months, we generally have one service at 9:30am.
Knowledge of the instrument and keyboard ability
sufficient to play hymns, liturgy, and sight read easy
anthem accompaniments, using small pipe organ and piano.
Prefer Bachelor of Organ Performance, or Bachelor of
Music. Knowledge of basic music theory, including simple
transpositions or harmonizing a melody.
