Partners in the Gospel

He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. Therefore, encourage one another and build each other up. . .      1 Thess 5:10-11

Mission Partners, Mission Founders, and Mission Builders accompany new and renewing congregations of the ELCA as they carry out God’s mission in their communities.


The Mission Builders are dedicated Christians who, in thankfulness for all God has provided, use their God-given skills to help congregations, schools, camps, and social ministry organizations of the ELCA construct or add-on to their facilities. While their hands provide housing for ministries, their hearts and voices share faith in Jesus Christ and build each other up.


Mission Partners are mutually supportive congregations who offer whatever each has (Prayer, Presence, and Presents) for the good of the other. Partners understand themselves as blessed to be a blessing. While most of these relationships are between congregations within the same synod, others may be across the United States. Mission Founders are individuals, congregations, small groups of neighboring congregations, or synods that Make Christ Known by funding a mission developer at a new mission site. Founders may sponsor a new congregation by birthing a satellite in a new location, starting a second campus in a different part of town, or supporting a completely independent site.
