Churchwide Assembly voting members are encouraged to participate in online Bible studies to be held Sunday afternoons in July (10, 17, 24 and 31), 3-3:45 p.m. Central time. Please join us as we explore the meaning of "embodiment" in Luke 24 and engage with these presenters:

Ready to dive into the pre-assembly material? Learn how to access the 2022 ELCA Churchwide Assembly Guide (“CWA Guide” for short) by participating in the upcoming training webinars. OFFICIAL NOTICE: August Churchwide Assembly Hearings


The 2022 Churchwide Assembly hearings will be held by Zoom webinar during the week prior to the Churchwide Assembly. Hearings are nonlegislative sessions to hear certain proposals scheduled for assembly action or information sessions at the 2022 Churchwide Assembly. According to the “Rule for Hearings,” voting members, advisory members, resource members and other categories approved by the Church Council may attend with voice. Others may watch the hearing through identified livestream options and shall not have voice.

The dates and times for the three scheduled hearings are:

  • Aug. 2, 7-8 p.m. Central time: 2023-2025 budget proposal.
  • Aug. 3, 7-8 p.m. Central time: General session on memorials.
  • Aug. 4, 7-8 p.m. Central time: Listening event for “civics and faith” social statement.

The presentation portion of the hearings will be recorded for viewing later. Voting members should register for the Zoom webinar hearings and select which ones they wish to attend. The general public may go to the ELCA YouTube channel to watch the hearings live or on-demand.
