2018 Indonesia Tsunami and Earthquake

The situation:
In 2018, our neighbors in Indonesia were affected by a series of powerful tsunamis and earthquakes. These disasters Impacted multiple communities including the Lombok, Java and Sumatra regions of the country. Thousands of people died, and even more were injured. Homes, livelihoods and infrastructure was destroyed leaving hundreds of thousands of people displaced.

Our response:
Immediately following the tsunamis and earthquakes, through our partners – Huria Kristen Batak Protestan (Batak Christian Protestant Church, or HKBP) and ACT Alliance – Lutheran Disaster response accompanied impacted communities with immediate relief such as food, psychosocial support and access to healthcare.

Lutheran Disaster Response stands ready to accompany communities with additional support as relief and recovery efforts continue.

Your gifts designated for "Indonesia Earthquake and Tsunami" will be used entirely (100 percent) for direct response until it is complete. Together, we can help provide immediate and long-lasting support for those whose lives have been affected by these disasters.
