Information about the 2025 Churchwide Assembly

The 2025 ELCA Churchwide Assembly will be held at the Phoenix Convention Center In Phoenix, Ariz. To learn more about the city of Phoenix, visit its official website here.
The assembly starts with orientation on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 1 p.m. Phoenix time and concludes at the close of the plenary session on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. Phoenix time. Click here to view a public schedule.
Each congregation of the ELCA may register one congregation observer for the Churchwide Assembly. Congregation observers will have reserved seating in the observers’ section of the plenary hall and access to the 2025 Churchwide Assembly Guide, as well as materials distributed on the plenary floor to voting members, advisory members and nonvoting members during the assembly. Such observers shall have neither voice nor vote in assembly plenary sessions. Transportation, housing, meals and related expenses shall be the responsibility of the registered observer or the sending congregation. Details on how to register as a congregation observer will be made available later, in spring 2025.
No, there will not be a vendor space for exhibitors at the 2025 Churchwide Assembly.
The bulletin of reports for the 2025 Churchwide Assembly will be made available no later than 20 days prior to the assembly. You can find the assembly documents and resources on the ELCA Churchwide Assembly Guide (also known as the 2025 Churchwide Assembly Guide, or CWA Guide for short), a mobile app for tablets such as an iPad. The 2025 Churchwide Assembly Guide is available for anyone and will have up-to-date information that can be accessed before and during the assembly, using any iOS (Apple) or Android tablet with access to the internet.
