The Environment

The Environment
Caring for God’s creation is an ever evolving topic in this world with each new natural or human-made disaster. As stewards of this world, we are called to examine our behaviors in the way we treat creation. While we need to take from the land for food and sustainability, we need to be careful that we maintain the difficult balance between being good stewards and exploiting all of the splendors the earth gives each of us.

The environment has been the focus of ELCA teachings and the church’s advocacy work. There are many resources to help all ELCA members to discern, learn and act on issues related to caring for creation.
