It's easy to sponsor an ELCA missionary!
Thanks for considering joining the many congregations, Women of the ELCA units, organizations and individuals who make a world of difference. Together, you sponsor nearly 240 ELCA missionaries serving in almost 50 countries!
Missionary sponsorship means you will communicate with, pray for and financially support your missionary. Here's how to sign up!
1) Contact the office for Global Mission Support to say,
"yes, I'm interested in sponsoring a missionary!" Email us at

2) We will send you names of missionaries who need sponsorship. After selecting your missionary and level of support (see below), you are ready to complete your
fillable covenant form, or the
version of the form to fill out by hand. Print either form and send it to us at:

3) Global Mission Support will notify your missionary of your commitment to sponsorship and send you a confirmation packet with helpful information for your missionary sponsorship. You can also

4) Your missionary will begin communicating with you. Some covenant levels make it possible for your missionary to visit.
5) Enjoy working "Hand in Hand" with our global neighbors through the support of your missionary!

Helping Hands
Your covenant commitment of under $2,000 in one year |
Receive regular updates from the sponsored missionary and ELCA Missionary Sponsorship, including the global mission annual directory. |

Friends
Your covenant commitment of $2,000 or more in one year, or a commitment of $1,000 or more for two consecutive years |
In addition to the above: Sponsored missionaries make every effort to accept invitations to visit during home assignment. |

Neighbors
Your covenant commitment of $10,000 or more in one year

In addition to the above: Sponsored missionaries make it a priority to accept an invitation and sponsors are acknowledged in the annual directory. |

Companions
Your covenant commitment of $75,000 or more for one year or after three consecutive annual gifts of at least $25,000 |
In addition to the above: Companion sponsors are honored at a recognition event, often during the annual Summer Missionary Conference. |

Endowment Companions
Your covenant commitment to the ELCA Missionary Sponsorship endowment fund of $75,000 or more in one year or after three consecutive annual gifts of at least $25,000 |
In addition to the above: Endowment companions are invited to name their gift; the missionaries who receive proceeds from the endowed sponsorship will communicate with the donor or the donor’s family. |
