The Inter-Lutheran Coordinating Committee for Ministries in Chaplaincy, Pastoral Counseling, and Clinical Education
A cooperative activity of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, the Inter-Lutheran Coordinating Committee for Ministries in Chaplaincy, Pastoral Counseling, and Clinical Education works with:
- MCPCCE Endorsement Process: There are Area MCPCCE Conveners located strategically in various parts of the country. MCPCCE Consultation Committees are scheduled in consultation with the Area MCPCCE Convener. Approximately 20-30 persons seek consultations for MCPCCE endorsement each year. An additional 30-40 persons per year inquire about MCPCCE endorsement. The MCPCCE Consultation Committee makes a recommendation to synodical Bishops regarding endorsement. It is the synodical Bishop who ultimately endorses the candidate in MCPCCE.
- Annual/Regional MCPCCE Conferences: The ZION national conference is a major triennial continuing education event, coordinated by the ILCC. The next ZION conference is scheduled to be held October 21-24, 2010 at The Lodge at Simpsonwood in Atlanta, Georgia. For more information regarding ZION contact Judy Ladage at Judy.Ladage@lcms.org.
- Relationships with Ecumenical Professional Certifying Organizations: (APC, COMISS, ACPE, AAPC) Sponsor and host Lutheran gatherings, such as breakfast and lunch at these meetings.
- Advisory Committees of the ELCA and LCMS coordinate with the ILCC.
- Inter-Lutheran Coordinating Committee for Ministries in Chaplaincy, Pastoral Counseling and Clinical Education: meets twice per year with four members from each church body.
- Scholarships and Grants: Development of funding and administration of MCPCCE continuing education grant ("Give Something Back") .
