Welcome to a place where we are listening to and striving to amplify the voices and the songs of young people, focusing on youth ages 14 to 18.

 
The Youth Ministry program of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America provides and supports resources, information, networking, and programs for people who serve in ministries with youth and young adults. The ELCA Youth Gathering and Lutheran Youth Organization carry special emphases in leadership development, faith formation, and service learning.

Here are some highlights of what's going on right now for youth ministry leaders...

Chicago area screening of Hurricane Katrina Movie: Trouble the Water  

  • Attend a special screening and discussion in Park Ridge, IL, of the award-winning film about Hurricane Katrina. Meet one of the film's directors for discussion at the theater.
  • Discussion following the movie at St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
  • July 13 at 7:00pm at the Pickwick Theatre in Park Ridge, IL.

MYLE group of youth 2009-2012 Multicultural Advisory Committee (MAC) application for nomination

  • The Multicultural Advisory Committee's purpose is to help the Lutheran Youth Organization strive to be more inclusive and to voice the concerns and needs of youth of color and whose primary language is other than English. Members are elected from within their own ethnic constituencies at the MYLE event.

Jesus Justice Jazz: The Tour
  • Rachel Kurtz, LOST AND FOUND, and Agape will be on tour after the ELCA Youth Gathering to challenge and encourage youth to live a life of Jesus-centered justice.
  • The Tour includes service opportunities, concerts, offerings that benefit the ELCA World Hunger Lutheran Youth Challenge and local ministries, and a rockin' time for youth!
