Build a Torture-Free Future
Here is a short list of available resources from NRCAT:
June is Torture Awareness Month, the month when religious and human rights organizations work to highlight the issue of torture. As a community that has declared our moral opposition to U.S.-sponsored torture, we join this June with the National Religious Campaign Against Torture (NRCAT) in focusing on the need for greater accountability for past U.S.-sponsored torture as a path to national healing and redemption.
One way we can contribute to this overall goal is to discuss the issue of torture in our own communities. We hope that your congregation will take advantage of the opportunities to engage this issue in worship, education and advocacy.
