Current Financial Report

The materials within these pages provide information related to the Current Year Financial Report. They include:

Income BudgetPDF Format
The income budget is approved by the Churchwide Assembly and revised by the Church Council.  It is the projection of income available to the churchwide organization for the fiscal year.  The budget may be updated twice annually by the council. 

Spending AuthorizationPDF Format
The spending authorization includes the distribution to churchwide units.  It is approved by the Church Council.  It may be updated twice annually by the council or more often if necessary.

    ELCA Council Acts on Resolution on Racism, Other Proposals - April 18, 2008
    Spending authorizations: The council approved a revised 2008 fiscal year current fund spending authorization of $82 million, and it approved a revised 2008 fiscal year ELCA World Hunger spending authorization of $20 million. Christina Jackson-Skelton, ELCA treasurer, said the "record" performance of the 2007 ELCA World Hunger Appeal supported an increase of the 2008 budget. Read more
