Intro to Stewardship
Stewardship is the thoughtful use of anything that has value in life. Whether it be our voices (which are moral instruments), to the land under our feet and the water flowing through our towns, to our pocketbooks (which are moral documents), stewardship is the cruciform and mindful management of the abundance of God.
Stewardship, at it’s core, comes down to how we express generosity in the ongoing story of God’s work in this world. Generosity is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:21-23), and at it’s core is a discipleship practice flowing from the free and abundant love and grace we have from God through Christ.
Here you’ll find some resources and ideas that can help elevate the conversation around stewardship in your ministry, encouraging and empowering this discipleship work that God fosters in all of us. God wants us to lead a generous life not because God needs it, but because it’s a better way to live.
