The ELCA Wittenberg Center
As we move toward the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation in 2017, pilgrims from around the world are visiting Reformation sites. The ELCA Wittenberg Center invites pilgrims to come and explore their faith, global Lutheran identity and God’s mission of healing and reconciliation in the world.
Many Protestant churches are planning a wide array of events and resources to observe this historic time. For example, the Protestant Church of Germany has designated 2014 as the year to explore the Reformation and Politics. The Lutheran World Federation has chosen “Liberated by God’s Grace” as its theme for 2015-2017. The ELCA Churchwide Office is developing plans in 2016-2017 and is encouraging synods, congregations and other church institutions to share resources and initiatives.
