YOUNG LUTHERAN MUSICIANS PERFORM
Nearly 225 students in grades 8-12 will attend the Lutheran Summer
Music program to be held June 22-July 20 at Valparaiso University,
Valparaiso, Ind. Lutheran Summer Music offers concentrated
instruction in instruments and voice, including private lessons with
distinguished performers. Students perform in Symphony Orchestra,
Concert Band, Concert Choir, Chapel Choir, Jazz Ensemble, Collegium
Musicum and small ensembles. They present nightly performances of
historic and contemporary music. Students and faculty also bring the
musical Lutheran heritage to life daily in Evening Prayer. Lutheran
Music Program, Lutheran Summer Music parent organization, is an
independent Lutheran organization based in Minneapolis. It was
founded in 1982 to assist the church in training future musical
leaders.
