ELCA Council Names Committee Members

DENVER (ELCA) -- The Church Council of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) met here Aug. 15 and named 14 people to serve on four committees of the church. Two of the appointments were to fill unexpired terms.
ELCA Commission for Multicultural Ministries, steering committee: John Prabhakar, Faith Lutheran Church, Rochelle, Ill. Patricia M. Robinson, Reformation Lutheran Church, Philadelphia *Saitong Urramporn, Thai Community Church of Chicago, Forest Park, Ill.
ELCA Commission for Women, steering committee: Sara E. Calderon, Iglesia Luterana Nuestro Salvador, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico Sarah H. Meckler, First Lutheran Church, Plains, Mont. The Rev. Nitza Rosario-Rodriguez, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (Brooklyn), New York Timothy Seitz, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Longview, Wash.
ELCA Department for Communication, advisory committee: Jack Cafferty, First Lutheran Church, Montclair, N.J. The Rev. Nancy M. Curtis, St. James Lutheran Church, New Haven, Ind. Mary Harp-Jirschele, Christ the King Lutheran Church, Combined Lakes, Wis.

*All will serve six-year terms, except Spangler and Urramporn who fill two years of unexpired terms.
