ELCA News Correction: U.S. Rep. Ron Kind (D-Wis. 3rd)

January 31, 2001

ELCA NEWS CORRECTION: U.S. REPRESENTATIVE RON KIND (D-Wis. 3rd)

ELCA News & Information issued "Twenty Lutherans in the 107th
Congress" on December 13, 2000. The story indicated that 17 members
of the U.S. Congress are members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church
in America (ELCA) and three are members of The Lutheran
Church-Missouri Synod.

U.S. Representative Ron Kind (D-Wis. 3rd) is not a member of the
ELCA, as implied by the story. He is a member of Immanuel Lutheran
Church, La Crosse, Wis., a congregation of the Wisconsin Evangelical
Lutheran Synod.
