ELCA Pastor to Be Featured on 'The Protestant Hour'

April 16, 2002

CHICAGO (ELCA) -- The Rev. Ronald T. Glusenkamp, a pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), is a featured speaker this spring for three installments of "The Protestant Hour," a nationally broadcast radio program.
Glusenkamp is vice president for customer outreach, ELCA Board of Pensions, Minneapolis.
Glusenkamp's message can be heard on broadcasts for April 21, May 19 and June 16. Each program includes a sermon and a short interview with the speaker.
Glusenkamp spent more than 20 years as pastor of churches in Missouri and Kansas, including 11 years as senior pastor at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, St. Louis. He has worked as a media consultant for congregations and other nonprofit organizations.
Glusenkamp became known as "the sign man" in St. Louis for provocative postings outside his church. He authored a book, "Signs for These Times," which offers insight on how congregations can use outdoor signs to attract visitors.
The Protestant Hour has been broadcast on radio stations every year for more than 56 years. It has won numerous awards in the process, including the George Foster Peabody Award for broadcast excellence.
The program is produced cooperatively by the ELCA, Episcopal Church Media Center, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and United Methodist Church. -- -- --
