ELCA Communicators Honored in DeRose-Hinkhouse Awards Competition

GRAPEVINE, Texas (ELCA) -- The Religion Communicators Council (RCC) honored several Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) communicators March 30 here at its annual DeRose-Hinkhouse Memorial Awards program.
Among top winners was Eva Yeo, Women of the ELCA, Chicago. Yeo won a "Best of Class" award for the site of Lutheran Woman Today at http://www.lutheranwomantoday.org on the Web. Her project was also presented an Award of Excellence winner for Internet Communication.
Staff with Women of the ELCA won two additional DeRose-Hinkhouse Awards. An Award of Excellence for Periodicals went to Kate Elliott, Terri Lackey and Audrey Riley for Lutheran Woman Today magazine, October-November-December 2005 issue. Elizabeth McBride and Deb Bogaert received an Award of Excellence in Internet Communication for Café' -- Stirring the Spirit Within, The Hunger Issue: The Names and Faces Behind Hunger, November 2005.
Communicators were recognized for outstanding communication projects in nine general categories.
RCC is an international interfaith association of religion communicators in print and electronic communication, marketing and public relations. The awards chair was Victoria Goff, American Baptist Churches U.S.A., Valley Forge, Pa.
DeRose-Hinkhouse Memorial awards are given annually to active RCC members who demonstrate excellence in religion communication and public relations. The awards are named in honor of the late Victor DeRose and the late Paul M. Hinkhouse, leading lithographers in New York and longtime friends of RCC.
