CHICAGO (ELCA) -- The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's
(ELCA) Northeastern Iowa Synod Council voted this past weekend to rescind
two resolutions it adopted in November in response to the sexuality
decisions of the 2009 ELCA Churchwide Assembly. The council rescinded
the resolutions decisively "after extensive and open conversation," wrote
Susan Armstrong, Mason City, Iowa, synod vice president, in a Feb. 1
letter to the synod.
