CHICAGO (ELCA) -- The Rev. Bradley E. Schmeling and the Rev. Darin
Easler are in the process of being reinstated to the clergy roster of the
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Revisions made to ministry
policy documents now allow eligible Lutherans in publicly accountable,
lifelong, monogamous, same-gender relationships to serve as ELCA clergy
and professional lay leaders.
