CHICAGO (ELCA) -- The Rev. Dr. Paul W. Egertson, a former synod
bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), college
professor and advocate for full inclusion of people who are lesbian, gay,
bisexual and transgender in the life of the ELCA, died Jan. 5 after
suffering a heart attack. Egertson, 75, died at his home in Thousand
Oaks, Calif.
