Crane's Mill Continuing Care Retirement Community, West Caldwell,
N.J., will be the site of a "town hall" meeting on CBS-TV
following President Bush's State of the Union message to Congress
Jan. 31. The retirement community is a ministry of Lutheran
Social Ministries of New Jersey (LSMNJ).
Some 40 residents are expected to view President Bush's address.
During the speech, the network may cut away to show residents
watching the broadcast, explained Susan Arnold, LSMNJ vice
president, fund development and marketing. Following the speech
and two formal responses to it, CBS is planning to go to Crane's
Mill, where residents will participate in a question-and-answer
session with CBS News Correspondent Trish Regan, Arnold said.
CBS chose Crane's Mill because they anticipate much of the speech
will focus on health care and the economy.
