Rev. Susan Gamelin to preach for 'Day 1' international audience

The Rev. Susan L. Gamelin, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, High Point,
N.C., will be the guest preacher twice on the "Day 1" radio
program -- Feb. 26 and March 5. Both programs include a sermon
by Gamelin and a five-minute interview with her conducted by the
program's executive producer and host, Peter Wallace. Gamelin's
sermons, both on readings from the Gospel of Mark, fall on
Transfiguration Sunday and the first Sunday in Lent, two special
days on the Christian calendar. She is co-pastor of Emmanuel, a
congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
(ELCA), with her husband the Rev. Timothy R. Gamelin.

"Day 1" is podcast on the Internet and broadcast on radio
stations across the United States and in Canada, Nepal, Nigeria
and the U.S. Virgin Islands. A television version of "Day 1" is
also broadcast on the Hallmark Channel's "Naomi's New Morning" on
Sunday mornings. Formerly known as "The Protestant Hour," "Day
1" has been broadcast every week for more than 60 years. It has
won numerous awards in the process, including the George Foster
Peabody Award. "Day 1" is produced cooperatively by the ELCA,
Episcopal Media Center, United Methodist Church, Presbyterian
Church (U.S.A.) and United Church of Christ.
