by Melissa Ramirez Cooper, ELCA News Service

The 25th Annual Rural Ministry Conference will be held March 5-7
at Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa. Under the theme
"Living with Hope in an Age of Fear," participants from the
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and other
denominations will consider questions like: "In an age marked by
fear and overshadowed by terrorism, how and where do we find
hope?" The annual conference is hosted by the Center for
Theology and Land, a rural ministry program of the University of
Dubuque Seminary and Wartburg Theological Seminary. Wartburg is
one of eight seminaries of the ELCA.

Workshop topics range from welcoming the stranger to revitalizing
rural church and community. The conference includes worship and
Bible study, keynote addresses and a presentation on the "state
of the farm."
