Hallmark Channel will air a 60-minute version of the award-
winning television special, "Glory to God Alone: The Life of J.S.
Bach," on Sunday, March 5, at 7:00 a.m. EST/PST (6:00 a.m. CST).
Viewers in the Mountain Time zone should check local listings.
The program is presented by Faith and Values Media. The expanded
documentary production -- originally produced in 2002 by Mosaic
Television for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America --
includes additional video such as performances of some of Bach's
music and interviews with Bach scholars.
Bach (1685-1750) is a well-known German composer, regarded by
many as one of the finest classical composers. He composed
vocal, keyboard and orchestral works. "Glory to God Alone" was
recognized by the Religion Communicators Council, New York, with
its 2003 DeRose-Hinkhouse Memorial Award as best in class for non-
broadcast video and audio productions. Hallmark Channel aired
the extended program for the first time on Palm Sunday in 2005.
The broadcast version features scenes from Eisenach, Ohrdruf,
Weimar, Kothen, Muhlhausen and Leipzig, all in Bach's native
Germany.
