Faith & Values Media now to include Islamic groups

April 11, 2006

by Frank Imhoff, ELCA News Service

Trustees of Faith & Values Media voted April 6 to open the
organization's membership to Islamic groups and individuals.
Until then membership was limited to groups and individuals of
Jewish or Christian traditions. Inner-Attainment TV, Inc.,
Annandale, Va., became NICC's first Islamic member. "This is a
milestone in Faith & Values Media's history," said Edward J.
Murray, president and CEO, Faith & Values Media. "I am pleased
our board voted to open membership to groups within the Islamic
tradition. This is the right place for Faith & Values Media to
be in the 21st century," Murray said.

Faith & Values Media is a service of the National Interfaith
Cable Coalition, Inc., which provides its members with access to
a national audience through various outlets, including Hallmark
Channel on cable television and FaithStreams.com on the Web.
Faith & Values Media is the nation's largest coalition of
Christian, Islamic and Jewish faith groups dedicated to media
production, distribution and promotion.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is a member of Faith &
Values Media. The Rev. Eric C. Shafer, Trinity Lutheran Church,
Lansdale, Pa., began his service representing the ELCA on the
Faith & Values Media board with its April 6 meeting.
