Dr. Jon N. Moline, president of Texas Lutheran University (TLU),
Seguin, announced May 22 that he will retire effective May 31,
2007, when he turns 70 years of age. TLU is one of 28 colleges
and universities of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Moline has been president of TLU since Aug. 1, 1994. Under his
leadership the university has experienced significant growth in
enrollment, annual contributions, endowment, facilities and
programs, according to a TLU news release. "It has been a
privilege to serve TLU for the past 12 years, especially in the
company of such an extraordinarily fine community of faculty,
staff, students, alumni, friends and board members. With their
help and, above all, the help of God, TLU is in a strong position
and well-positioned for the future," Moline said.
The TLU Board of Regents will soon form a search committee for a
new president, said Karen Norman, board chair, San Antonio. The
committee will welcome and include input from faculty, staff,
alumni, students and community leaders, she said.
