The relationship of the Lutheran Church with other Christian
communities throughout the world will be the topic of the 2008
Hein-Fry Lecture Series of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in
America (ELCA). The Rev. Wanda Deifelt, associate professor of
religion, Luther College, Decorah, Iowa, and Dr. Lamin Sanneh, D.
Willis James Professor of Missions and World Christianity, Yale
University, New Haven, Conn., will address the topic Feb. 7-April
23. Each speaker will lecture on four of the eight ELCA seminary
campuses. They will discuss what Lutherans have to offer other
Christians as well as what Lutherans can receive.

Lecture schedule:
+ Feb. 7, Deifelt, Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary,
Columbia, S.C.
+ Feb. 19, Deifelt, Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia
+ Feb. 29, Deifelt, Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary,
Berkeley, Calif.
+ March 6, Sanneh, Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg,
Gettysburg, Pa.
+ March 13, Deifelt, Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago
+ April 3, Sanneh, Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa
+ April 16, Sanneh, Luther Seminary, St. Paul, Minn.
+ April 23, Sanneh, Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio

The Hein-Fry Lecture Series predates the ELCA. The endowed
theological lecture series is coordinated by ELCA Vocation and
Education in cooperation with the eight seminaries to foster
original scholarship and enrich theological dialogue throughout
the church. The series combines the Dr. Carl Christian Hein
Memorial Seminary Lectures of the former American Lutheran Church
and the Franklin Clark Fry Theological Lectures of the former
Lutheran Church in America.
