CHICAGO (ELCA) -- Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, the largest
congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA),
announced June 27 that the Rev. Craig E. Johnson accepted an offer to
become interim senior pastor, effective Aug. 1. Johnson will resign July
31 from his current role as bishop of the ELCA Minneapolis Area Synod, he
said in a letter to synod leaders.
