ELCA Board of Pensions names president-elect

CHICAGO (ELCA) -- At its meeting Aug. 4-6 in Minneapolis, the Board
of Trustees of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) Board of
Pensions elected the Rev. Jeffrey D. Thiemann as its president and chief
executive officer. Thiemann's election to lead this separately
incorporated ministry of the ELCA followed an extensive selection
process. He was nominated jointly by a search committee of the board of
trustees and the Rev. Mark S. Hanson, the presiding bishop of the ELCA.
