Lutheran Outdoor Ministries (LOM) is an association of outdoor ministry organizations, professionals, board members, businesses, and students connected to Lutheran camping, conferences, and retreats. Our programs reach God’s children of all ages though summer camping programs, retreat opportunities, hospitality, team building activities, and partnership with congregations.

Why outdoor ministry?
Outdoor ministry offers a unique opportunity to grow both personally and spiritually. Through outdoor ministry, you can develop leadership skills, learn how to listen and adapt, and practice effective communication in real-life settings. It invites you to engage in an intentional community, explore the outdoors, be silly and creative, grow in your faith, and—of course—have fun. Across the country, there are 119 outdoor ministry sites connected through 89 outdoor ministry organizations, supported by 675 full-time staff, 4,000 summer staff members, and 2,000 year-round volunteers. Together, they steward 30,000 acres of land and serve approximately 150,000 summer campers and 275,000 fall, winter, and spring campers and retreat guests each year.
