Transforming Our Approach to Stewardship

Discovering God’s Abundance Together
Reimagining Generosity as a Faith Practice

The Generosity Project is an intergenerational, household-centered approach to stewardship that connects generations, nurtures the faith practices of generosity and helps us grow in God’s grace from one generation to the next. It invites us to engage honestly with the role of money in our lives and equips all ages to embrace generosity as a year-round faith practice, not just a seasonal appeal. Through pilot programs across the ELCA, congregations discovered that The Generosity Project reshaped the way they understood and approached stewardship. Participants reported stronger relationships, deeper trust and creative new conversations about money, faith and community that spanned all generations. By drawing on the gifts of every household, this initiative fosters a culture of generosity that is rooted in God’s abundance rather than scarcity. Together, we are invited to discover, celebrate and share God’s life-giving generosity in ways that transform our households, congregations and communities.
