Growing Leaders, Building Connections

Companion Synods

ELCA companion synod relationships connect Lutheran churches globally with ELCA synods and congregations, expressing communion with more than 140 member churches. All 65 synods have at least one companion, creating relationships that deepen ministry through shared global challenges and perspectives.

Young Adults in Global Mission (YAGM)

The ELCA YAGM program invites adults ages 21-35 into a transformative year of international service. As they walk alongside global companions, volunteers are shaped by the witness of neighbors and share in the ministries of partner churches and organizations.

International Leaders Program (ILP)

For 35 years, the International Leaders Program has partnered with companion churches and institutions to equip leaders for mission and ministry. ILP develops leaders through scholarships, camp counselor opportunities, mentoring, exchanges and workshops.
