LGBTQIA+ Affirmation & Advocacy

Church is Your Home in Christ

As a church with a living, daring confidence in God's grace, we embrace you in our faith as a whole person—questions, complexities and all. We are called to be trustworthy in our human sexuality, to build social institutions and practices where trust and trustworthy relationships can thrive.

Human Sexuality: Gift and Trust

God is absolutely trustworthy and faithful. We ground our teaching on human sexuality in the biblical witness of God’s creation, with human behavior and social structures considered in relation to how they foster trust, commitment and protection for the flourishing and well-being of all people.

Guidance from the Church

The ELCA provides guidance on key matters, such as marriage, family, same-gender relationships, protection of children and youth, sexuality and the self, sexual intimacy and cohabitation, as well as issues of sexuality in the public square, the workplace and within the church.
