Chicago — The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) has launched the new ELCA.org. The new website provides a central, unified location where current and potential members, church leaders and visitors can know and understand what it means to be an ELCA Lutheran.
The new ELCA.org focuses on the needs of people who identify as ELCA Lutherans, providing practical and spiritual support for congregants and equipping current and future church leaders with the tools they need to do effective ministry. The clutter-free design makes it easier to discover and connect with the ministries and programs that best enable current and future Lutherans to understand and express their faith, and it incorporates accessibility best practices.
The space also includes the new enhanced search, which incorporates pages on ELCA.org, the ELCA’s resource library, congregation profile information and Living Lutheran articles to provide a more comprehensive result. It also provides a guided exploration that curates answers based on individual needs.
The new ELCA.org is the culmination of more than a year of collaboration among the ELCA’s Strategic Communications, Information Technology and Innovation teams to create a tool that will help create more impact with users. The teams engaged in extensive user research and incorporated modern, accessible and dynamic digital design to build a space where current and potential members, church leaders and visitors can understand and put their faith in action.
