MINNEAPOLIS – Paul Sterling has been appointed chief operating officer (COO) of Portico Benefit Services, a separately incorporated ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), effective July 14.
Sterling has extensive health care leadership experience across operations, strategy, finance and product innovation. Most recently, he served as COO for Employer Health Innovation Roundtable (EHIR), a World 50 Group company.
This appointment comes as Portico is continuing to drive growth, now serving more than 52,000 plan members with 5,100 congregations and employers.
Sterling will report to Chris Johnson, president and chief executive officer of Portico.
