Mrs. Issa has led the Gender Justice Ministry of the ELCJHL for over five years. Her work emphasizes educating men and women in Palestine about gender justice in the Palestinian culture. This ministry works closely with the Lutheran Ecclesiastical Courts in Palestine, which are the first of their kind and have made history by ensuring equal rights of women in matters of family law. Mrs. Issa directs many educational programs in all six of the ELCJHL congregations, and works with many local theologians and clergy to tie in important scriptural themes about gender and justice to this important ministry of the church.
