Each position is designed for one individual, although in some instances a couple can be accommodated. There is no provision for dependent children. Participants are compensated at a stipend level but transportation, housing and health insurance are provided. Given the modest provisions – sort of like church Peace Corps – personnel are often recent college graduates or early retirees.
